April!

Hello interwebs!
We just got back from our tour with War of Ages and Wrench in the Works, which was awesome! Thanks to anyone who came out and hung out with us then, or even saw us for the first time! It was a big blessing.
I also want to thank anyone that has picked up a copy of "The Everlasting Man", its because of your support that we can stay out on the road and do whatever we do!
We have some big stuff coming up this summer such as a full US tour (hello east coast!) with Victory Records' A Hero, A Fake, and our first ever appearance at the annual Cornerstone Festival in Illinois! I'm super stoked because I've always wanted to just go to cornerstone, let alone have my band play. So we are super excited.
We have also officialy started working on our next project, which is definitely in the embryonic stages, but getting to be very exciting. Its way too early to talk about anything set in stone, but were messing around with a lot of new things like tuning down to B and experimenting with bows/ebows/and the like.
I promise to post something more exciting and less formal next time, and as Veronica Corningstone would say, thanks for stopping by!

march!

Sorry for the lack of recent updates! Our February tour with our buddies in TIEFIGHTER (myspace.com/tiefighter) was great. We have been off the road for most of March, but we've been keeping ourselves pretty busy. We've been assimilating back to the workforce (recession willing) as quickly as possible because well be leaving our jobs again in about a week to head out with War of Ages, which were pretty stoked about. Tanner and I have been jamming out some new ideas via amplitube (google it, its freakin rad), and fixing up my stupid amp and pedalboard that decided to do its own thing when I ask it to work like its supposed to. Very frustrating.
We have some rad updates coming your way soon, such as tour plans for may/june, new merch, maybe a new song or 2, who knows? We do! That's all for now kids....I promise the next update will be more interesting!

TOUR UPDATEZ 1!!!!

So were about a week and a half into our tour with Tiefighter which is going awesome!!! We got to meet our label, who by the way, are the best team in the entire industry, and play an awesome show with Sleeping Giant. The other shows have been rad as well and weve met a lot of awesome new people and gone places weve never been. Today we stayed with some old friends who live in Texas that used to play in this amazing band from Centralia, WA called Blessed By Falling. Our show ended up getting cancelled so we watched 2 Die Hard movies and ate fried chicken. Weve got some awesome pictures coming soon so we'll try to update this thing more!

BUP BUP BUPDATES!

Hey friends!
So our album "The Everlasting Man" just came out last week on Tuesday, the 20th, and we had our CD release show on the 24, which, by the way, was amazing! So, thank you to all the fans that came out to support not only us, but Roseway, Something About Airplanes, The Seatbelt Tragedy, It Prevails, and Inked In Blood for their last and final show, it was an incredible night that sold out the Satyricon, which is a very big deal! Also, our friends in It Prevails released a demo sampler of their new album "Capture & Embrace" which will be out very soon, so definitely check that out once the day comes.

Also, we leave for tour today! After a little scare over our van stalling a bunch, we finally got it all figured out, and everything should be working fine! So, tonight we'll head south for our show tomorrow in Fresno, CA at Kuppajoes. So pray for our van, Ron, and hopefully he will hold strong for our upcoming tours through April!

PS. We'll try to update this blog as much as possible while we're on tour with videos, pictures, stories, and whatever else we might feel like posting in here, so keep checking back!

Waiting!

So our record comes out in just under a week and we are all getting stoked. There are tons of preorder options up at facedownrecords.com so make sure and check that out!

Other than that we've been practicing and getting ready for our tour in february with Tiefighter. We all bought a bunch of new gear during our little winter break. Ian got sponsored by truth drums and got a sweet new dark stained kit. Tanner and I have been nerding out on pedals and bows and slides (and an ebow) and we also got a hold of this sweet software called amplitube where we can plug our guitars intoour macbooks and it has a ton of amp modeling and junk. Were excited to be able to write on the road so well see how that goes!

Make sure to check out our page for dates and if you live in/around portland, PLEASE come to our release show on the 24th and see Inked in Blood one last time (and I'm filling in on rythym guitar for them and am scared!)!

First Entry! A Hope For Home Signs with Strike First Records!

We are pleased to announce that we have signed with Strike First/Facedown Records! After 2 years of being a 100% DIY group we have finally been given an awesome chance to take the next step in the industry, and we can't be more excited. The Facedown family is a great place for us and we humbly follow in the footsteps of 2 other important Facedown Portland bands, Inked In Blood and Brutal Fight.

We will be re-releasing 'The Everlasting Man' on January 20th. I know a some of you already have it, so we decided to spice it up a little bit.
The re-release will have:
-2 New Songs
-Remixed
-Remastered
-Brand New Artwork
It is up for preorder now in the Facedown Records online store-check that out here- http://facedown. merchnow. com/
and while you're at it, add them on myspace! www. myspace. com/strikefirstrecords

Also, we are having a CD re-release show at the Satyricon in Portland on January 24th, 2009. More info on that soon.
We are also going to be filming a video in Seattle this weekend for "Iniquity: An Offering" so be checking back for that soon! And of course we will be back on tour next year hopefully around February so check back for dates!

We need your support now more than ever. The music industry is at a very interesting place right now, and we believe one thing that has plagued the Major Labels has been the tendency to look at the listener as part of a larger group of people that make up a mechanical, predictable consumer base, and just create products to throw out at you with little or no value. We have always felt that music should be something that is valued and can stand for something, and we want to present our music to you with as much heart as we can. We feel partnering with the Strike First/Facedown team will only strengthen that ideal, and the way to create lasting art is to be honest and create without pretense.
Thank you all for your continued support (and for reading this far!) And we will see you on the road next year!

Nathan, Matt, Tanner, Dan, Eric, and Ian
(A Hope For Home)

ps-we will be posting on here from now on with some rad stuff like pictures, tour updates, studio updates, and totally random stuff that noone needs to know but we will post anyway. so bookmark it, add us if you're on here, and have at it!
